Now that spring is officially in swing, it’s time to decorate to reflect the warmer season. All you need is a few faux greens, statement pieces, and a whole lot of springtime inspirations.

I talked to our Intercourse store decorators, Erla and Anna, about a few fresh ways to style your home for the spring season. They adore the vintage farmhouse decorations that are popular in our stores this season.

Check out their four tips for spring decorating below!

1- Embrace Greens

You can’t go wrong with greens. While real plants are beautiful, they also take time and work. If you don’t have a green thumb, we recommend faux greens that won’t take any effort.

They look beautiful displayed on shelves, tables, bookcases, and more!

Tip: For an extra pop of color, add some flowers in calm, inviting colors. Soft lavender and pale yellow are popular colors for this spring.

Our decorators rave about the popular half-round spears that truly do complete your display. They nicknamed these greens, “ploppers” because you can plop them anywhere and they look great! Simply add them to the top of decorative vases or cups.

2- Display Encouragement

Adding your favorite quote or scripture to your walls will inspire and motivate you each and every day. A unique twist on the popular picture or painting, these quotes bring a new dimension to your home.

Sayings to Live By

Tip: Go rustic with an engraved or painted wood pallet. These sayings or inspirational words will complement your other decorations — and cheer up visitors, at the same time!

3- Add a Statement Piece

Every home needs a few pieces — furniture, décor or pictures — that makes guest stop and say, “wow.” Adding a statement piece, that not only contributes to your overall theme but also pulls it altogether, is a must.

This spring, our decorators are loving the unique simplicity of the traditional farmhouse that reflects our Lancaster roots. Our large, metal roosters and big, bold wall clocks is a crowd favorite.

Choose a statement piece that captures your decorating style in one glance. If you love this piece enough, you’ll find yourself redecorating each season with it!

4- Freshen Up Decorations

Our decorating team recommends taking a few moments at the end of each week to tidy up your home. Of course, here at our stores, maintaining a tidy environment is a must —tidiness only adds to the beauty of our handcrafted furniture and displays.

Tip: Galvanized metal tins are a welcome update to the classic farmhouse style. Add a key greens to the top of your tin, and voila, your decorated home will look country with a modern farmhouse twist.

After a busy week with work and activities, it’s helpful to set aside time to refresh your decorations. Angle your vases a little bit differently or add a few new pieces to freshen up your look. You may even have a few new ideas or inspirations to add to your home from the past several days. This will keep your home fresh and alive.

Your home, whatever the style or state it is in, will look best designed with decorations that fully encompass who you are as a family. A home is a place to belong; your decorations only make it more comfy!

No matter what the weather is like outside, you can make it feel like spring in your home!

Interested in quilt squares already finished and frame ready. Saw some in one of your stores but had a black frame. Want a harvest oak frame with a medium to dark green scheme in the quilt pattern. Any info would be greatly appreciated. The one’s I saw were 35.
