People are drawn to the Amish for many reasons: their strong family values, their tireless work ethic, their simple lifestyle and most definitely, their homegrown, homemade food. However to us, in Lancaster County, the Amish are more than just a tourist appeal.
The Amish are our neighbors and our families, our coworkers and our friends and even some of our grandmas. We’ve ate at their kitchens and sat at their tables.
So we decided — in the spirit of Christmas — to share an treasured, Amish family recipe that’s been passed down in our family for generations, featuring tasty, tender chicken. We hope that with this recipe, your family will enjoy some cherished family time of your own!
The Amish Roast contains butter-drenched stuffing, tender chicken, and thinly-sliced celery, a mix that tastes as tantalizing as it sounds!
